The aluminium compounds cause the cells in your sweat ducts to swell and they block sweat from being released. It might not be suitable if you like your deodorant to have a fragrance, but personally, I think a perfume can help there! Of course, this is far from ideal and definitely made me rethink whether aggressively blocking my armpits with super strength antiperspirant was healthy. I decided that from hereon in, my armpits would smell only like a summer’s day, or freshly washed cotton towels.
I personally have to use it every other day but I’m sure a lot of people would get away with using it less often. It took me a while to get used to a very different type of deodorant though, so my advice would be to give it a month and then you won’t look back! This natural oil can also be extracted from renewable plant sources, such as olives, sugar cane and rice bran, making it an eco-friendly alternative to animal squalane.I can comfortably use it for three weeks on the road at a time and barely come close to running out. After many years of using regular deodorants you have probably gotten so used to smelling a fragrance under your arms, that not smelling of anything under there might give you the sensation that your deodorant isn’t working. I can completely relate to this, I nearly did give up on it as the transition is hard when you are normally a hardcore antiperspirant user. Personally, I think this product would also be handy for people going long term travelling as it will take up minimal space in your backpack. That applies to the working conditions, the hygiene regulations, the environmental guidelines, and more.
I’m so glad I found your review, there is nothing on the Nuud webpage that mentions that the initial smelly period can last for weeks!Your personal microbiome is as hard to predict as the rainforest, but luckily, nuud stays effective for several days. I had forgotten about the risk of sweat patches under my arms and what it feels like to have wet armpits.

I’ve tried several different natural deodorants, and all have made my armpits get a bad rash or have an adverse reaction. You will need to adjust the application frequency depending on whether you’re switching from aluminium deodorants or adjusting to Nuud.
