You have probably seen a micrometric buckle on your bike or ski helmet, it has a small hard plastic strap with teeth on one side that easily grabs onto and adjusts to the other side. F1 is the modern single-crystal mask derived from PIUMA model with especially elegant, harmonious and Frameless technology.

The Quantum also has a heat exchanger built into the silicone skirt that helps to cool the mask down and keeps the moisture in the air instead of condensing on the glass. The buckle on the A1 has two buttons that allow for easy strap adjustment, and it seems like it will be a breeze to adjust the strap to my preferred fit. No leaks, no fogging up of my goggles, no water getting into my eyes, it’s like being able to see clearly underwater without any effort at all.The Cressi F1 is a great backup mask due to the fact that it’s frameless and also super compact, making it very easy to squish into a bcd pocket.

This is particularly useful for beginner divers who need to ensure their comfort is not an issue so they can focus on learning all their new skills! The Z1 is available in black, blue, white, grey and red, the ZS1 in black, military green, fuchsia, light blue and white. It has a unique splash guard at the top which greatly reduces the entrance of water during use on the surface.

Being of a frameless design the F1 mask is relatively low volume making it easy to clear whilst also being able to fold flat making it ideal as a back up mask stowed in a suit or BCD pocket. Most scuba diving masks have a frame; a hard bit connecting the glass lens to the skirt (the soft bit which seals to your face). Now, I’m a sucker for the classic scuba diver square diving mask, not so much the oval, that’s a step too far for me, but I do like the modern Scubapro Gorilla frameless mask. The Cressi F1 is an excellent choice for beginner divers and snorkellers who want quality without breaking the bank. The skirt and strap are flexible and soft without sacrificing durability or quality, and the top of the internal skirt has a nifty double edge that seems like it will create an even more secure seal.

The Cressi F1 mask is the cheapest frameless and also the most compact scuba diving mask currently on the market. The tempered glass lens provides a distortion-free view of the water around you and is extremely unlikely to break even if it falls. The mask itself, I was worried it was going to look awful but in fact, it was only when I mentioned it that people were like "ohhh yes I see now".
